Small masterpieces of Korinna Pretro relocate the viewer to a wonderland full of fantasy and
mental harmony. Each character of this brilliant artist, whether the graceful "Muse" or the
silly and stingy King – the character of a children’s book "The Star Counters" written by
Ida Lutrell - is a lively image created by using the favorite technique of the painter and
illustrator – Korinna Pretro. The illustration of a children’s book "The Star Counters" was her
first work on the international market.

Illustration of Russian fairy tales is the main art of Korinna Pretro.

In spite of the difficult career structure due to a long way of self-discovery, Korinna Pretro
remained faithful to her passion and established herself as a significant artist.
The co-operation with the great Russian author of fairy tales Boris Sergunenkov lead to
the creation of the impressive illustration series of his books "Small Balcony Door"
(Leningrad, 1986), "The Tree of Fairy Tales" (2011). Furthermore, the artist illustrated the
collected poems written by Sergey Skachenko: "Celebration at Neva" (1987), "White rabbit,
where have you been?", "Moscow Textbooks" (2008). In 2009 Korinna Pretro won the greatest
award for her latest work at the All-Russian Book Competition. Altogether, she illustrated
												more than 30 books.

Following the traditions of the great illustrators, Korinna Pretro created fascinating and
catching images. The main task, namely the aim of inspiring young readers to open their
favorite books again and yet again, is fulfilled.

Korinna Pretro created marvelous series of etchings "The Landscapes of Saint Petersburg",
"The Muse", "Flora", "Dryad", which enrich the collections of various museums and art lovers.
